Frequently Asked Questions about The Beanstalk Project Conferences
Don't see your question?  Call us! 226-444-4332 - We'd be happy to hear from you!

What if I have dietary concerns or food allergies?

No worries!  Just let us know if you have dietary needs or allergies when you register and we will accommodate your needs.

What meals are provided?

We will be providing some light snacks upon arrival on Thursday night. And we will provide lunch on Friday and Saturday. Breakfast and dinner during the event are up to you. There is a selection of restaurants and cafe's within walking distance of the event. We will give you some time for dinner on Friday night!

How do I apply for a homestay?

We will ask you questions regarding homestays when you register. Of course, if you have already registered and didn't ask for a homestay, or you have more questions, you can always phone or email us to request a homestay or ask questions.  We'll do our best to put you in touch with someone who can host you.

How does The Beanstalk Project choose homestay hosts?

You will notice, on the registration form, we ask if you are available to host people during the event. Officially, individual delegates are responsible for their own accommodation, and the final decision of whether or not to homestay rests with the families involved, but we use the information people provide to try to suggest suitable hosts based on gender and age.  If it looks like there's a good match, we help everyone exchange contact information so the guests and hosts can speak on the phone and/or by email to arrange the details ahead of time with each other.

What should I bring to the event?

The event will be held inside, and in the same set of rooms for the most part. Think comfort! Here's a list of things you may want with you:
  • Slippers
  • Comfortable clothing; sweatpants, comfortable sweaters, etc.
  • Waterbottle
  • Notebook
  • Money for dinner on Friday night
  • For the social on Friday night: instrument/talent to share, music, board games or brain teasers
  • Warm clothes (you may be walking to get dinner, or head outside for a break a few times during the day)
  • Snacks; we will provide some snacks, but you may want your own as well, especially if you're picky.

What forms do I need to submit/bring with me?

  • Full registration form: This will need to be filled out and sent to us ahead of time.
  • Emergency Form, Liability Waiver & Media Release: Send this to us via fax, email or snail mail, as soon as possible (or bring with you to the launch if you cannot get them to us sooner)
